This unique event invites families from across the Atlantic provinces to immerse themselves in the vibrant French language and culture. From engaging workshops that make French learning fun to exciting cultural outings and festive gatherings, there is something for everyone. Join us for a weekend where families can connect, learn and create lasting memories in French-speaking environment. Get ready to speak and live in French!
Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia, Canadian Parents for French – New Brunswick, Canadian Parents for French – Newfoundland & Labrador and Canadian Parents for French – Prince Edward Island come together to host three joint Family Fun French Weekend events during the year.
These weekends bring together families with children and youth in French immersion to have a fun filled weekend with activities held in French for the youth and parent only sessions & activities held in English.
These events will include:
- 2 nights accommodation
- Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday*
- Saturday morning parents session*
- Dinner & Entertainment on Saturday evening*
- Sociocultural programming for students K-12*
- Sunday morning family activity*
- All taxes and gratuities

Who should attend? Families of French-Second-Language, French Immersion and Francophone students.
What will take place? A fun-filled family weekend full of French and bilingual activities for French and non-French speakers.
Where will everything take place? We have a different location for each of the three events in the Atlantic region.
Why should you go? This is an opportunity for your child(ren) to use and practice French outside of school.

From the dazzling Christmas parade to interactive museum visits, each activity is designed to enhance your family’s French-speaking abilities while ensuring a fun-filled experience for all ages. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of community and learning in the heart of New Brunswick.

Event Start: The opening ceremony kicks off at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 22
Event Conclusion: Activities conclude with a farewell lunch at noon on Sunday, November 24

Our Family Fun French Weekend in Moncton is packed with engaging activities tailored for families. The weekend’s events are designed to immerse participants in French language and Acadian culture through interactive and fun experiences.

• Opening Ceremony and Ice-Breaker Activities: Start the weekend with excitement on Friday evening!
• Educational Sessions and Workshops: Learn and have fun with a series of presentations and hands-on activities.
• Outdoor Adventures: Experience the unique Mascaret phenomenon and join the vibrant Moncton Christmas Parade.
• Cultural Visits: Explore the rich history at the Acadian Museum and participate in special museum-led activities.
• Festive Evening: Celebrate with a special Christmas Eve festivity on Saturday night.

Set in the charming town of Bouctouche, this part of our event offers families a unique opportunity to engage deeply with French language and Acadian traditions through a variety of interactive and educational activities.

• Event Conclusion: The weekend wraps up with a beach outing on Sunday afternoon, August 4

Our Family Fun French Weekend in Bouctouche is designed to celebrate Acadian culture and the French language through immersive experiences:
• Welcome Ceremony: A warm start to the weekend with introductions and fun ice-breakers.
• Local Exploration: Discover the area with guided tours and cultural narratives.
• Beach Activities: Enjoy the coastal setting with a planned beach day, including swimming and sandcastle building (weather permitting).
• Interactive Workshops: Participate in workshops focusing on Acadian history, language, and crafts.
• Evening Festivities: Engage in traditional Acadian meals and music that bring the community and families together.
